Water Quality Update

The City’s municipal water system experiences unforeseen events from time to time that cause water discoloration for short durations. For example, on June 10th, a vehicle accident caused a sheared fire hydrant at the intersection of Garfield Ave and Firestone Blvd. The sheared fire hydrant caused the velocity in the pipes to increase which scours the internal lining of pipes breaking away natural deposits causing water discoloration for a short duration. This process discolored the water for a short duration.
