Marijuana Prohibition

On February 9, 2016(PDF, 1MB) , the South Gate City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2326(PDF, 343KB) , which prohibited a medical marijuana or marijuana dispensary from operating in the City. In addition, the Ordinance prohibited marijuana cultivation, marijuana processing, and the delivery of marijuana or medical cannabis products activities in the city, except where the city is preempted by federal or state law from enacting a prohibition on any such activity.
