Upgrade to MWD Intertie CB-11

The project will upgrade the existing control valves and piping system of the MWD Inter-tie CB-11 located at Southern Avenue and Kauffman Avenue in the City. The existing old control valves are rusted and non- operable. The project consists of recoating and relining exiting piping and replacing existing control valves and piping in the intertie. 90% of the plans and specifications for the project are now complete. Staff submitted the documents to Central Basin MWD for comments and approval by MWD. As part of the project SCADA integration system for the system will be upgraded for remote operation. Design is expected to be completed after comments from MWD are incorporated. MWD approval of the design is expected to be in April 2024.   Construction is expected to start in September 2024 and completed by December 2024.
