The City of South Gate is continuing its investment in safer neighborhoods through the Uncontrolled Intersection Safety Improvement Program, a multi-phase Capital Improvement Program that will enhance pedestrian safety at 15 uncontrolled intersections throughout the City.

The project will install a variety of safety improvements, including Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs), high-visibility crosswalks, corner bulb-outs, ADA curb ramp upgrades, new pavement markings, enhanced pedestrian signage, and other traffic calming features. These improvements will make pedestrians more visible to motorists, encourage slower vehicle speeds, improve accessibility, and create safer crossings for residents of all ages.

Whether walking to school, parks, transit stops, businesses, or other community destinations, residents will benefit from safer and more comfortable pedestrian crossings throughout the City.
