City of South Gate Municipal Code 7.66.020 Alarm System Registration and Fees require that all alarm systems (other than vehicles) register with the city or Police Department within 2 weeks of installation.

Senate Bill 978

Senate Bill 978 requires law enforcement agencies to “conspicuously post on their Web sites” all “current standards, polices, practices, operating procedures, and education and training materials” that would otherwise be available to the public.

Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Program

The South Gate Police Department accepts applications from South Gate residents who wish to obtain a Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license.

Citizen Academy

The Citizen’s Academy Program allows South Gate residents and employees to be exposed to various areas and aspects of law enforcement through a 6 week course that is taught by the men and women of the South Gate Police Department.
