The Water Meter/Construction Meter application is required for new water meters or the use of fire hydrants for construction projects. When applying for a new water meter, an application fee is required at the time of submittal. Please refer to the Master Fee Schedule for the applicable fee. Following submittal, the South Gate Water Department will determine the estimated cost for installation of the water meter(s).
A $1,000 deposit and $1,283 water installation fee is required when applying for a construction meter. A map/sketch that depicts the location of the existing fire hydrant is also required when submitting for a construction meter.
Application and payment can be submitted to the Public Works front counter.
