Water Main Replacement, Phase III

The City is moving forward with the Water Main Replacement Phase I project to enhance water infrastructure on the west side. This project will replace approximately 7,000 linear feet of aging water mains at several locations, including State Street (between Tweed Blvd and Southern Ave), Sequoia Drive (between State St and Elizabeth Ave), Michigan Avenue (between Elizabeth Ave and California Ave), Elizabeth Avenue (between Michigan Ave and Martin Luther King Dr), and Dolores Avenue. Additionally, a new water main will be installed on Meadows Drive to support the installation of fire hydrants. The project will also include the installation of new AMR meters, valves, fittings, service laterals, fire hydrants, and other necessary infrastructure improvements. The design contract was awarded to SA Associates, with the final design expected to be completed by June 2025. Construction is anticipated to begin by December 2025/ January 2026 and will take approximately 4 to 5 months to complete.
