The Hawkins Reservoir is a water production facility equipped with water wells and two water reservoirs. The project will recoat the reservoirs and include re-piping, seismic upgrades, and perimeter fencing. Staff advertised the project for construction and two bids were received. On April 25, 2023, a construction contract was awarded to Unified Field Services Corporation. Construction is currently in progress and to be completed in May 2024.  The contractor mobilized on August 7, 2023, and to date the contractor has completed the perimeter fence, and the rehabilitation of the south tank.   The south tank put back into service on January 22, 2024.  The North tank was drained that same week and ready for the contractor to begin work.  The contractor has installed the lateral bracing, bridge between the two tanks, hand rails, and the overflow pipe.  In March, the contractor started with sand blasting the existing coating and will follow that with applying the new coating.  North tank rehabilitation is scheduled to be completed in May 2024.
