Make a Complaint

A positive relationship with the community is an vital part of our mission and vision statement. The trust and confidence between members of the South Gate Police Department and our community is essential to effective law enforcement. Our employees have a unique duty and obligation to act in a professional manner and respect the rights of all persons they contact. South Gate Police Officers and our civilian staff are provided a range of discretion during the course of their duties and they are tasked with exercising their best judgment at all times. They are also required to initiate enforcement action and/or provide police services in a reasonable and impartial manner without the fear of reprisal.

The South Gate Police Department acknowledges the responsibility to establish a procedure which will not only address the subject employees to corrective action when they conduct themselves improperly, but will also support employees when they properly discharge their duties.

Filing a Complaint

If you have a complaint regarding a police employee, it is preferred that you come to the South Gate Police Department and speak to a Watch Commander directly. However, complaints may be made by:
