Utility Cabinet Beautification Program

The City of South Gate's Public Works Department (City) seeks to expand beautification efforts on Tweedy Boulevard by partnering with local artists to paint and transform selected utility cabinets into pieces of art that bring a sense of community to the area. The goal of the program is to promote art in the community, foster a spirit of collaboration through creative expression and discourage vandalism on utility cabinets.

The City seeks up to 22 local artists to create art on designated utility cabinets located on Tweedy Boulevard, between Atlantic Avenue and Truba Avenue.

The selected artists will receive a stipend of $1,500 per utility box for art supplies and materials upon completion of the approved artwork.
